CRAB-CHEESE SNACKS

Preparation Time:  15 Minutes                              

Cooking Time:  5 Minutes

Make Ahead:  You can prepare these snacks up to baking them and freeze them on a baking sheet.
You can also store the frozen snacks in a plastic freezer bags for up to 3 weeks.

Makes 48 snacks

Serve these tasty snacks with an ice cold glass of ginger ale.

SHOPPING LIST

Crabmeat, Cheese Spread, Parmesan Cheese, English Muffins, Butter,
Mayonnaise, Paprika, Seasoned Salt, Garlic Powder

INGREDIENTS

4 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 (5- ounce) jar sharp chese spread
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
6 ounces crabmeat
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
6 english muffins
1/2 teaspoon paprika

  1. Combine butter, cheese spread, parmesan, mayonnaise, crabmeat, seasoned salt and garlic powder in a medium bowl.  Mix well.
  2. Cut the english muffins into halves and spread the crabmeat mixture on the muffin halves.
  3. Arrange muffins on a baking sheet and sprinkle with paprika.
  4. Broil until browned, about 5 minutes.  Cut each muffin half into quarters.

VARIATION

You can use biscuit halves or whole wheat toast rounds made with a biscuit cutter instead of english muffins

EXPRESS COOKING

You can use an electric mixer to combine the topping mixture in less than 1 minutes.

MONEY SAVING TIPS

Picking and cooking crabs can be very time consuming, not to mention expensive.  Instead you can use one 6-ounce or two 4-ounce cans of crabmeat.  Be sure to drain and rinse well before using.
