Make Ahead:  You can make this dip up to 12 hours ahead and refrigerate.

Serves 6

Serve this dip with tortilla chips.

SHOPPING LIST

Avocados, Lemon, Tomato, Sour Cream, Cilantro, Onion, Salt, Red Pepper Flakes

INGREDIENTS

2 large avocados
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 small tomato (without seeds and chopped)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

  1. Slice the avocado in half and remove the pit.  Scoop out avocado with a spoon into a small bowl and mash with a fork until smooth.
  2. Add lemon juice, onion, tomato and salt and mix well.
  3. Add sour cream, red pepper flakes and cilantro and mix well.
  4. Spoon guacamole into a serving bowl, serve with tortilla chips or quesadillas.

VARIATION

For a different flavor instead of lemon juice and red pepper flakes, use lime juice and creole seasoning.

EXPRESS COOKING

Avocados turn brown quickly, to help keepit green sprinkle with lemon juice and cover tightly with plastic wrap.

MONEY SAVING TIPS

Fresh avocados can sometimes get a little expensive, you can check the frozen food section of your supermarket to see if they have frozen avocado pulp.
