HONEY MUSTARD TURKEY

Preparation Time:  15 Minutes                              

Cooking Time:  10 Minutes

Make Ahead:  You can cut the turkey
into appropriate size pieces up to 8
hours ahead.  Place in a resealable plastic
bag and refrigerate until ready to cook

Turkey Tenderloins, Honey, Mustard, Oil

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup prepared mustard
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 1/2 pounds turkey tenderloins

  1. Preheat grill or broiler and soak 6 wooden skewers in water in a shallow baking dish (this will keep the skewers from burning while the turkey is cooking).
  2. Cut turkey into 1 1/2 inch cubes.
  3. Thread turkey cubes on the skewers and brush them with the honey mixture.
  4. Grill the turkey, turning and brushing with the honey mixture until the meat is browned and cooked through (about 10 minutes).

VARIATION

To give this recipe an oriental flair, add 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce to the honey mixture.

EXPRESS COOKING

Cutting the turkey into cubes will be faster and neater if you chill the meat in the freezer for 30 minutes prior to cutting.

MONEY SAVING TIPS

You can make a double batch of this recipe and have it on hand for an inexpensive and quick midweek meal.  Slice the turkey and add some pasta or rice salad or serve with a tossed green salad.
